College of Liberal Arts

What is ULLA?

ULLA stands for Upcoming Leaders in Liberal Arts. The program is intended to help Liberal Arts students become better acquainted with the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Liberal Arts Student Council (CLASC), the many student organizations, and the CSULB campus community.

The ULLA program focuses on providing students with the necessary skills and experience required to be successful student leaders in the Liberal Arts community while having fun at the same time. This is achieved through:
  • Weekly Leadership Workshops & Meetings: featuring student designed and facilitated workshops that cover topics ranging from leadership techniques, career building, and many other amazing opportunities.
  • Hands on Experience: opportunities to volunteer with CLASC at the major student organization events and other programs put on every year in the College.
  • Peer Mentoring: Each ULLA student is paired with an experienced mentor to serve as their guide while they are in the program.
  • Social Activities: Enjoy the company of the cohort and meet various other student leaders from the College at recurring social activities on and off campus.
  • Theory-to-Practice: As a culminating project, students will apply what they have learned about leadership by planning and coordinating the CLASC Banquet, held annually in May by the graduating ULLA cohort.
Students who complete ULLA at the end of the year are recognized at the CLASC Banquet with a commemorative certificate and medallion for Commencement. ULLA is organized by the College of Liberal Arts Student Council and sustained by student leaders from within the College of Liberal Arts. To learn more, download the ULLA Brochure.
